This workshop was initiated by an internationally recognized tsunami expert, Professor Philip L.-F. Liu at Cornell University in 2007, to weave an international academic net, in which strong interactions and collaborations among coastal physical oceanographers, geophysicists, and engineers from the countries in South China Sea Region were combined together. Through this workshop, potential devastating tsunami disaster and hazard mitigation in this region was profoundly discussed.

SCSTW-7 is special. The workshop will take place in the National Museum of Natural Science, the largest museum in Taiwan and a famous tourist spot, not to mention the Sun Moon Lake is located nearby. In addition, the workshop will arrange two field trips to the 921 Earthquake Museum and the nuclear power plant which will give the participants a unique experience in Taiwan. Please visit SCSTW-7 website for more information.

SCSTW-7 welcomes warmly not only the scientists in the fields of hydrodynamics and tsunami, but also in the fields of Seismology, Geology, Sedimentology, Disaster Management, Nuclear Energy, Museology, and Popularization Science. SCSTW-7 looks forward to seeing you at the workshop.
